Relief from the mortuary temple of Senwosret I

Painted limestone fragments of relief from the king's pyramid temple; showing the hawk of Behdet hovering over the Horus name and nomen of the king. Embedded and partly restored in plaster.


From el-Lisht; court of the pyramid temple of Senwosret I; 1908-1909: excavated by the Metropolitan Museum of Art; assigned to the MMA in the division of finds with the government of Egypt; 1952: lent to the MFA by the MMA; 1954: received by the MFA by exchange with the MMA, May 13, 1954.
