This pot is made of red clay with horizontal grooves. The rim of the top of the pot is painted with a deer and several quadrupeds frolicking in between highly stylized foliage. The top of the pot is broken.

Provenance

Said to be from Kalabsha. 1904: purchased for the MFA from Mohamed Mohassib, Luxor, Egypt by Albert M. Lythgoe as part of a group ( 04.1823-04.1824) for £4. (Accession Date: January 1, 1904)
