Small bronze plaque in the shape of a bound prisoner; pierced with a square nail. Engraved with details of dress and Meroitic inscription. The plaque is likely to have been attached to a footstool or throne base.


From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Temple of Amun, B 501/Found in the "Meroitic Kiosk". 1920: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan; 1924: received by the MFA.
