Pitcher (oinochoe) with dancing Eros

Leaves mark the lower junction of the high handle and the body; below these leaves a fat, winged Eros dances to the right, with a torch downward in his right hand. Quadruple, molded fillet is set at junction of the neck and shoulders. Somewhat corroded; dark green patina.


By date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Rome.); purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, December 1901
