Eros flies to right, holding a fawn. Greek inscription 'handsome' (KALE) to the right of Eros' face. Incision on the foot. Condition: Over the fawn, repaired with small restorations.




Date unknown: from Gela (according to L. D.Caskey and J. D. Beazley, Attic Vase Paintings in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, no. 98); by 1901: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Rome.); purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, December 1901.
