OIl flask (alabastron)

Start collecting

The body has straight-sided walls and a sloping shoulder. On the shoulder, three small handles. Buff clay, with painted decoration in brown varying to reddish brown. Scale pattern on the shoulder; linear ornamentation on the body.

By 1933: Miss Mary Lee Collection (said to have been found by Miss Mary Lee at the side of a railroad cutting in Myloi (Lerna) near Argos); loaned by Mary Lee to MFA, January 13, 1933 as 23.33; by 1982: estate of Miss Mary Lee; gift of her executors to MFA, December 8, 1982
