Offering table in form of stele

Sandstone offering table in the form of a round-topped stele, decorated with a pair of oval bread loaves, two bouquets of lotus flowers and blossoms, and two offering jars from which water is shown pouring into the deep, square basin at the center of the offering table.

Provenance

From Dendara. 1898: excavated by William Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt; presented to the MFA at the general meeting of the EEF. (Accession Date: November 1, 1898)
