Start collecting

One of a large group of miniature copper tools and vessels found in the same intact tomb, this model represents the convex, handled lid of a deep basin. THough not common, lids of this type are known in pottery. The handle is connected to the cover with two circular screws.


From Giza, G 2381 (tomb of Impy). 1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt. (Accession Date: December 4, 1913)
