This model axe, made of gold, has a polished surface, plain except for incised lines on the end of the handle. There are five additional lines on one side of the axe and four on the opposite side.

Provenance

From Nuri, Pyramid 22 (Tomb of Queen Malenra). 1917: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession Date: March 1, 1920)
