Yellowish-white slip on shoulder and body. Principal design Herakles and Pholos. In the middle the mouth of a pithos from which the wine spouts up as Herakles opens it, standing at left; at right Pholos, carrying a branch. Two small pieces of the vase are missing.

Provenance

By 1893: with Mr. de Caix de Saint-Aymour in Paris (said to have been found in the island of Euboea, at Eretria); purchased from him by an Anonymous donor; Anonymous gift to MFA, March 1893
