Start collecting

An oval lamp with carinated body. Stud-handle with a groove. The disc is small (and broken). Around the hole, on the shoulder, two rows of conventional ornament. From the vicinity of Kos. Condition: The central part of the disc has been broken away in irregular shape.

Provenance

According to MFA Register of Pottery and Porcelain, no. 5, one of a group of objects (87.422-87.434): all from Cos and the neighboring islands; by date unknown: with M. A. Carandonis; purchased by MFA from M. A. Carandonis, December 6, 1887, for $ 110.00 (this is the total price for MFA 87.422-87.437)
