A lamp with almost circular body; upright, pierced handle; flat rim; flat concave disc surrounded by concentric grooves and decorated with an animal (fox?) in relief; short nozzle almost merged with the body. Said to come from Asia Minor.


By date unknown: Mrs. Carl Cohen Collection; December 5, 1963: loaned by Mrs. Carl Cohen to MFA (as 347.63); 1969: inherited by Carl Cohen from Mrs. Carl Cohen (according to a note from him the lamp was found in Asia Minor, brought here by a friend of ours who spent many years in Turkey); gift of Carl Cohen to MFA, September 23, 1969
