Kohl jar

Start collecting

The jar is complete with a lid and separate rim piece. The base is flat and footed, and the rim is wide and flattened. Traces of kohl remain on the inside of the jar and lid.

From Mesheikh, grave 140 B. 1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt. (Accession date: December 5, 1912)
