May 1945, said to have been found about 12 miles southeast of Medinet Gurob, Egypt, by Robert Gordon Faudree [see note 1]; 1959, sold by Faudree to Horace L. Mayer (b. 1899 - d. 1968), Williamstown, MA [see note 2]; to his widow, Florence Ellen Mayer, Williamstown; 1972, gift of Mrs. Mayer to the MFA. (Accession Date: January 10, 1973) NOTES: [1] According to a letter from Faudree of July 6, 1959. [2] First lent by Horace L. Mayer to the MFA on October 30, 1959 (loan no. 54.59).
