Horse trappings- duck ornament

This bronze ornament, likely from the trappings of a horse bridle, depicts two stylized ducks connected back to back. The metal shows a greenish patina and retains some earthy encrustations.

Provenance

From Luristan, 1930: purchased by the MFA through Mr. Upham Pope.* (Accession date: August 7, 1930) *Ninety-five objects, numbered 30.544-30.637 were purchased as a group for $15,000, plus a $2250 commission.
