He holds the lion's skin over his extended left arm and probably held the club in his raised right hand. He has large eyes and ears, drill holes for nipples and navel. His right hand is missing. Green patina with considerable wear.


A label on the bottom of the pedestal suggests the bronze came from an old French collection (Cannes?); by date unknown: Mr. and Mrs. William de Forest Thomson Collection; gift of Mr. and Mrs. William de Forest Thomson to MFA, September 12, 1918
