Robert Hay (b. 1799 - d. 1863), Linplum, East Lothian, Scotland; 1863, by descent to his son, Robert J. A. Hay and exhibited at the Crystal Palace, London; 1871, sold as part of the Hay collection to Samuel A. Way (b. 1816 - d. 1872), Boston; 1872, to his son, Charles Granville Way (b. 1871 - d. 1912), Brookline, MA; 1872, gift of Charles Granville Way to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 28, 1872); June 26, 2013, deaccessioned by the MFA for sale through Christie's, New York.
