1901-1902: presumably excavated by Gennaro Matrone in a room on the south side of the peristyle of the villa of the Contrada Bottaro, located a half mile south of Pompeii; ownership granted to Gennaro Matrone by the Italian government; purchased for $ 3,750.00 (the total price for MFA 38.733 and 38.734)
