The stone is light-colored and fine-grained. It is done in sunkend relief. It depicts a profile male head facing the left. No trace of color remains. It is in fine condition.

Way through London dealers Rollin and Feuardent, 27 Haymarket); 1872: given to the MFA by Samuel's son, C. Granville Way. (Accession date: June 28, 1872)
