Folding stool (reconstruction)

Start collecting

Wooden stool with bronze and silver fittings. Reconstruction (with modern ebonized wood using original metal fittings) of a folding stool. The style of the stool was heavily influenced by the contemporary Hellenistic world. Reconstructed by Mr. Young.

From Meroe, Beg. Tomb W 415 no. 1. 1923: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of the Sudan.
