Fibula (pin)

Leech-shaped, with heavy bow closed underneath. The body is decorated with cross bands of carefully incised, hatched designs, four each of triangles and key pattern. The catch-plate is partly missing. The pin is broken off and may not belong.

By date unknown: with Julius Carlebach, 1040 Madison Avenue, New York (said to have been found at Strasbourg); purchased by MFA from Julius Carlebach, January 8, 1959, for $ 75.00
