Embalming pot of the priest Horsematawy

This wheel-made jar, tempered with straw, comes from an embalmer's cache. The surface is decorated with a white wash, and a Demotic inscription reads "the prayer of the priest Horsematawy, son of Pakhas."

From Giza, G 7510Z. Excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; 1925: assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt.
