Hook earring without pendant(s). The hook is S-shaped, with a pointed end; the whole hook is rather large and hollow. The face consists of an oval disc, flat, on which is an oval design in relief, both decorated in filigree. Forms a pair with 01.8174.


By date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Rome: known to be from a tomb in the necropolis of Bomarzo [with 01.8171-01.8172, 01.8174]); December 1901: purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren
