Jar with a flaring rim, made of red Nile silt, with a dark red slip and white-painted decoration composed of a series of stylized, vertical plant motifs.


Said to be from Sheikh Ali. 1904: purchased for the MFA in Qena, Egypt from Ghirgas by Albert M. Lythgoe as part of a group (04.1814-04.1819) for £5. Acquired with funds from the Emily Esther Sears Fund. (Accession Date: January 1, 1904)
