Blacktopped pot with incised scorpion

B ware shoulder jar with a narrow neck, plain rim, and a small, flattened, but worn base. Dry incised potmark on body of a scorpion. Body and surface condition are both very good.

Provenance

From Dakka (ASN103/0/1). 1910. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government.
