This round-bottomed bowl has a rim that is somewhat recurved. The blackened rim is further decorated by a zigzag line as well as finely incised hatching. (Sudan catalogue) Large red-polished, black-topped bowl with incised rim: a hatched band with single zigzag band within it. (Card)


From Kerma, Cemetery N, Tomb K 133 (a disturbed oval grave). April, 1916: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; 1921: assigned to the MFA by the government of the Sudan.
