Black-polished incense burner

This funnel-shaped black polished incense burner has a very wide mouth, a short stem, and a small, slightly splayed disc base. Both the interior and exterior have black polished treatment.

From Kerma, South Cemetery, grave K 313. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; 1920: assigned to the MFA by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: December 1, 1913)
