Beer Jar (Tall ovoid jar)

Beer jar with direct rim and flat, stringcut base: complete. The vessel was made on the wheel and is unslipped. The bottom of the jar bears finger marks where the potter lifted it from the wheel when finished. // 98.1082

Coxe Expedition of the University of Pennsylvania; assigned to the University of Pennsylvania in the division of finds by the Sudanese government; 1910-1991: University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology; 1991: received by the MFA through exchange with the University of Pennsylvania Museum.
