Amulet of Sakhmet

Blue glazed faience. Lion-headed standing female figure crowned with disc and uraeus. Column down back has two "ankh" signs and a "neb". Broken and mended.

Provenance

From el-Kurru, pyramid 52 (tomb of Queen Nefrukekashta). 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession date: January 1, 1924)
