Polished surface. High foot, high neck, grooved handles. On rim, four thin, vertical masks project above the edge. On the neck, two masks with long curls. On the body, a band of two figures repeating, a sphinx and a man holding a goat. On the shoulder, a band of lions and sphinxes.

By 1875: in a public collection in Chiusi; sold at public sale in Florence to J. J. Dixwell (said to be from Chiusi); gift of J. J. Dixwell to MFA, March 1876
