Alabastron (bag-shaped vessel) of Aspelta

Blue marble bag-shaped vessel, two knob handles, one broken. Inscribed on one side with two cartouches of Aspelta. Complete; slightly decayed.

Provenance

From Nuri, pyramid 8 (tomb of Aspelta). 1918: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession date: March 1, 1920)
