Straight-sided cup

This cup is fashioned of a red clay fabric. It has straight, flaring sides with a somewhat irregular flat base. The rim is straight and unworked. The exterior is treated with a thin cream slip. A portion of the upper part is missing, one fragment of which remains.

From Meroe, .466, FD SE. 1923: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession Date: August 22, 2006)
