Straight-sided cup

This cup, fashioned of a reddish clay fabric, has a flat base and straight sides that widen towards the top to a wide mouth with a straight, unworked rim. There are no signs of surface treatments. A large section of the rim is missing due to a break.

Provenance

From Nuri, Pyramid 1, NW foundation deposit. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 22, 2006)
