Spindle whorl/weight shaped from a vessel fragment

This is a circular (edges slightly squared) spindle whorl or weight shaped from a fragment of a redware pottery vessel. It has two holes drilled through roughly at the center.

From Kerma, K I (Lower Deffufa), Room B 1. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: September 19, 2006)
