Small shouldered stone jar

This slender, almost ovoid stone jar has high shoulders, a short neck, and rolled rim. It retains contents; it is almost completely full of a highly consolidated, brown, organic-like substance. The surface is cracking in many areas.

From Koshtamna (ASN 87/87/1). 1909. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government. (Accession date: July 6, 2006)
