Small shouldered red polished jar

This small, fairly slender shouldered jar has a rounded base, a widening convex neck, and a rolled rim. The surface was treated with a polished red slip.The jar is in extremely battered condition, with many areas of the surface broken off. Other areas show surface cracking.

From Kerma, Cemetery N, grave 155. 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession date: July 25, 2006)
