Round gem with head of Herakles

Intaglio. Double convex; back much rounder than front. Head of Herakles facing left. He is wearing a lion skin set slightly back from his forehead, allowing a fringe of short, curled hair to show.

By date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Corinth, found, I was assured near Acrocorinth.); purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, December 1901
