Oval gem with bust of Aelius Verus

Red jasper. Intaglio. Flat front and back with inward back bezel. Bust of a bearded man, Aelius Verus, facing left. He has short, tightly curled hair and wears a cloak fastened at the shoulder with a circular pin. At back of neck, a line of small vertical hatch marks. Deeply carved.
