Head of a female figurine

RBW female head; incised, and originally with a white paste. Thought to represent women with ornamental tattoos on their face and body, and may have been placed in burials for magical purposes.

Kubban. (ASN 110/224 and 110/15). 1911: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; awarded to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
