Globular ovoid jar

Globular ovoid jar with pointed base: body complete, missing neck and rim. The vessel was manufactured on the wheel. After the vessel was thrown, the exterior of the bottom half of the jar was scraped and cut into the desired shape and hand finished. The jar is unslipped.

From Giza, Menkaura Valley Temple "T." Excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
