Globular jar with contents

This globular jar is fashioned of a buff-colored marl clay. It has a rounded base, a straight neck, and a rolled rim. The exterior has some areas of dark discolaration as well as earthy incrustations. The jar contains two large fragments of a brown organic substance.

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 421. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 12, 2006)
