Globular jar with contents

This globular, nearly symmetrical jar has convex sides, a base that comes to a subtly rounded point, and a narrow mouth. The rim is straight and unworked. Contents remain in the vessel primarily in the form of a gray ovular lump of organic matter (bread?)

From Kerma, Cemetery N, grave 155. 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 6, 2006)
