Light blue-green faience inlay in the shape of a sidelock of hair from a scene of the king (Ramesses III) and one of his daughters (to whom this piece belongs); probably originally adorned a doorway lintel.
Said to be from Medinet Habu, Palace of Ramesses III. 1903: purchased for the MFA from Mohamed Mohassib, Luxor, Egypt by Albert M. Lythgoe as part of a group (including 03.1566-03.1577; 03.1578a-i) for £300. Acquired with funds from the Emily Esther Sears Fund. (Accession Date: January 1, 1903)
