Cylinder and ring beads

Large plexi box of partly strung disc beads that were leftovers from the bead network assembled by Mrs. Reisner. The bead network was sent on loan to RISD for the faience "Gifts of the Nile" exhibit. Colored beads, woven in patterns: big scarab, hieroglyph, diamonds, loose beads.

From Meroe, W 859 [Excav. date] Mar. 1923: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
