Collared ovoid jar

This ovoid, almost bag-shaped jar has a rounded base (almost coming to a rounded point) and a slightly flaring unworked rim. A collar has been applied near the point of articulation of the body and rim. It has been treated with a red wash.

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 3700. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 10, 2006)
