Coffin eye

Eye from a mummy case consisting of the eye and wooden socket. Eye is of alabaster colored red at the corners, and iris is of clear crystal. Includes a small fragment of alabaster iris colored red at corner.

From Egypt, Deir el-Bersha, Tomb 6, pit B, chamber Y debris. 1915: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt.
