Bronze figurine

Figurine of a dog from Northwestern Iran, Caspian coastal region. Groups of bronze animal figurines, pierced for suspension, have been found in tombs, where they appear to have been hung from men's belts. Their meaning is unknown, but it is likely that they were gifts to the dead.
