Begging dog

Sculpture of a bronze dog. The dog's left forepaw and head are raised, as if in a begging position. The tail and the iris of the left eye are missing. Dark green patina, with slight pitting.

By date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Found 8 miles from Chiusi, many years ago, and formerly in the collection of Fanello Fanelli of Sartiano.); purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, October 1896
