MFA for Educators

This is a group of fifty-two beads. Forty seven are thick cylinder beads with dark blue glaze. There are also five barrel beads, one of them with a granulated surface. They are in good condition. There were once strung together, but many are now loose.


From Egypt, Giza, Menkaura Pyramid Temple. 1907: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt. (Accession date: March 2, 1911)
