Bead

Nine cylinder beads and fragments of another, light gray body in which a pattern of two rows of three irregular circles infused in white glass. The presence of a seam inside shows that beads were made flat then rolled and molded while glass was still plastic.

From Meroe (Beg. West, Room B) Pyr. 126, 1922: Excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
